The Vowels Approach

As I was pulling my thoughts together on what I wanted dmarcwarrior.com to be, I knew I wanted something simple to explain my overall goal. That's when I came up with the Vowels Approach. A, E, I, O, U. (This is one of those cases where "Y" isn't counted as a vowel!)
There are enough acronyms in the world, I don't need to go create a new one!
Let me share with you how each vowel applies to the dmarcwarrior.com mission.
A = Advocate
I read a great quote yesterday.
"Cybersecurity is an imbalanced and unfair game setup— it favors attackers." -ThreatPost
Every domain owner out there needs every resource available to defend their organization and brand from the onslaught of attackers.
No single solution will protect against every threat. Attackers continually evolve their approach to find new ways around each new defense. By not leveraging every option, like DMARC, you are putting yourself at a bigger disadvantage.
Start now!

E = Educate
I have been learning everything I can about DMARC since July of 2019. It's fair to say I'm probably a little obsessed with DMARC. I think part of my intrigue with DMARC is that it is such a powerful little tool and has yet to be implemented enough to show its full potential.
Between this blog and the newsletter (are you a subscriber?!) I will share my DMARC journey with anyone interested in learning.
I = Implement
I have created a couple of my own tools to assist anyone interested in starting their DMARC journey.
One of the primary reasons I registered dmarcwarrior.com was to allow me to show with my own examples how a DMARC record is implemented through a domain registrar.
It was after registering the domains I saw the full benefits of developing the site for educational purposes.
O = Optimize
Some domains I have come across have already started implementing DMARC.
I have seen a few examples where key components have been left out of the DMARC record.
Other DMARC records I have noticed have the percentage of emails subjected to the DMARC filter set to allow a high percentage of emails to pass right through.
When leveraging DMARC, let's make sure we are getting the greatest benefit possible!
U = Utilize
Utilize me!
If you have questions about implementing DMARC, ask me!
I'm huge advocate for utilizing resources.
